Overview of Rulemaking in regards of the EWIS. Reminder of the standard or “best Practices” regarding electrical wiring interconnections.

Objectives of the course:

The course aims to fulfil the following pedagogical objectives:

  • The course provides the participants with the necessary knowledge to understand and interpret the EWIS concepts from regulatory requirements and manufacturer’s maintenance documentation.
  • The training course provides guidance for personnel of the target groups 1 – 6 as defined in AMC 20-22, which are directly involved in the maintenance and inspection of EWIS as well as for personnel performing general maintenance activities in close proximity of EWIS.

  • Familiarisation with the elements of EWIS
  • Overview of the history and background and recognise the elements requiring consideration in relation to EWIS
  • Overview of the EASA and FAA regulatory requirements
  • Overview of EASA AMC guidance material AMC 20-21, -22 & -23
  • Overview of the impact of EWIS on the Part CAMO continuing
  • General electrical wiring interconnection system practices
  • Wiring practice documents such as ESWPM
  • Standard practice for electrical installation using EWIS standards
  • Inspection standards and proposed corrective actions based on manufacturers EWSPM standards
  • Review of the MRB Process and development of the Enhanced Zonal Analysis Procedure (EZAP)
